BLOOD BOWL: THE WAAAGH'IPEG BLUE BOMMAZ'

Base paint and washes done by James, with highlights by Godfrey. Now we just need to get our other teams finished and we can start playing some proper games of Blood Bowl will fully painted miniatures on both sides!

We're going with a CFL theme, recreating most of the league (fortunately there are fewer teams in the CFL than the NFL!). These Orcs represent the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

After nearly 15 years, I went back to my tabletop gaming roots and painted up one of the many Bretonnian models I've had sitting in a box in the basement for eons. Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Bretonnia were my introduction to tabletop gaming and it was great to return to this army. I hope that many more models will follow at a decent speed.

STAR WARS LEGION: 1.4 FD LASER CANNON TEAM

We were quite happy with how this conversion/customization went. Out of the box, the 1.4 FD cannon comes in an Empire Strikes Back/Hoth style. To get it to fit in with the rest of James' Rebel army, we replaced the gunner with a rebel trooper from the box set and painted the commander in a temperate colour palette matching the others.

This week we're going to be kicking-off some steampunk-themed posts including a series of stories over the next few Fridays, so I thought it would be good to share a piece from an aborted (but very fun project) I started then stopped (for good) a few years ago. The model is actually mostly Victoria Miniatures "Victorian Guard" parts with some Games Workshop "bitz" (robotic arm and gun are Adeptus Mechanicus pieces).

This model was a boatload of fun to model and paint and I did model up a full squad before realizing it was not realistic to build an army of these guys. However, the "New 40K" has expanded options for small games so I should finish the squad for such small games.
