Felix Baumgartner Prepping for his Jump from Space

Great picture. Not sure whether Felix Baumgartner is brave or crazy, but I salute him.

I mentioned the Red Bull's plan to have a guy jump out of a capsule hanging from a 55-storey-tall balloon from from 120,000 feet in December HERE. It was finally to come to fruition yesterday, but bad weather delayed it until today and now until Sunday. I might have to get up at 6 am to watch it.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but Joe Kittinger (though from admittedly 20,000 feet closer in or thereabouts) broke the speed of sound over half a century ago upon his own re-entry (According to the 1999 BBC documentary 'The Planets' [Atmosphere]). Our brave spacefarer Felix Baumgartner is around half a century too late, though I applaud his attempts, dearly hoping he is successful. I wonder what has held up a second attempt for so long)? This sounds like something Branson could have pulled off quite easily - he's got the $$$, the bright young things working for him, the publicity power...

St Joseph of Cupertino, pray for him.

May you be able to report success soon.

Weather, specifically high winds, delayed the jump.

I believe Branson has been focused on his project of getting tourists into low earth orbit (and beyond) via Virgin Galactic (http://www.virgingalactic.com/)
